Hello Nadia & John,

I wanted to let you both know that we've had more than a great week at your part of the world. It felt a bit like home and we treated it accordingly. So many places we've been to (a lot as you recommended), specially liked the walks in the countryside and on the Dorset coastal path. Winyards Gap was great because of the panoramic view, the weather was so fine that we could sit outside there every time we visited it. For me your Sunday afternoon tradition of roast beef was a strange experience, very good beef indeed.  Well to sum it up: thanks again for using your small paradise!!

Well, what can we say. Thank you so much for letting us stay at the Lodge. We had a great time - so good in fact that even with all the cycling and walking, we're now on a strict diet.

Thank you for arranging such great weather. We managed a lunch in the sunshine at The Hive and also a lunch sitting outside in the sunshine after walking over from West Bay to Sea Town.

Thank you also for the clam, relaxed evenings back a the Lodge and arranging for the sheep to 'Baa' the cows to 'Moo' the owls to 'Hoot' and the pheasants to come roaming across the lawn.

It was a fabulous break with a good time had by all.

Thank you so much, Nadia and John. We truly fell in love with the place! Loved the wild Cogden Beach and cosy pubs. Would love to do it again if you would have us?

Got back from Linhay yesterday and just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our Dorset break. The cabin is fabulous - really comfortable and such a gorgeous location. We are totally bewitched by the place and can't wait to return. Think we drove every solitary tiny lane in all of West Dorset between breathtaking walks along hills and beaches.
Thanks again.

Just to say a big Thank You for letting us use the chalet. We had a fantastic time, we felt immediately at home and all was easy to find and switch on and off! It was wonderfully peaceful, we were able to relax immediately and it would be lovely to go down again on another occasion. The surrounding area is exquisite and easily accessible.

After three visits to Linhay, all we can say is "Ah!!". There is something magical about the air, the landscape and the house itself. We have never felt so relaxed, so truly un-pressured, so idle-and-all-the-better-for-it, as we do there. We can't wait to go back.

What a wonderful retreat into the Dorset countryside! The beautiful lodge is homely and comfortable with stunning views and friendly pheasants! We had a very relaxing 3 days at Linhay, and enjoyed some lovely walks and good food. Would love to return and explore some more. I attached a photo of sunrise on the Saturday morning (thats one of the joys of having a baby!) because it was absolutely stunning! Hope you like it.

Enormous thanks to Nadia and John for allowing us to experience Linhay. It was the perfect surrounding for a wonderful weekend of fresh air, beauty, comfort, good food, wine and unwinding. This group of four Londoners (people who usually get anxious at the thought of travelling outside Zone 2) left wishing we had weeks more to spend here and cant wait to stay again.

There’s the view across the valley, a bewildering number of the brightest stars for those used to London skies and of course the central casting pheasant that strolls regularly and fearlessly by. Beaminster is a delightful town to have as your ‘local’. We were lucky with the April weather, but realised in the late evenings how cosy the lodge would be in winter too. And we didn’t break anything: so hope to come back and stay again and again. Thanks. It was delightful.

We were told about Linhay as a last minute recommendation for a quick weekend getaway, what a place!  Secluded enough to escape the daily stresses but near enough local attractions to explore our surroundings, it was a real treat.  We went in October when it was quite chilly, nestling up to a log fire and enjoying the country life was the perfect antidote to our busy reality. We hope to return again soon!

Just wanted to say what a wonderful time we had at Linhay Lodge - very relaxing and a lovely part of the country to relax in! It felt like a million miles away from London.
Thanks for letting us share such a wonderful place.

A short note to say a big thank you as we've just had the most super time at your home in Linhay.
The lodge was wonderful and so comfortable and as we arrived in the dark (friends got there whilst light) it was amazing to see the views in the morning.
Lots of eating and drinking at nearby hostelries plus long walks made for a perfect weekend (with cheese festival at Sterminster Newton as an added bonus). We'd love to stay again!

A quick note to say how much we all enjoyed the lodge: it was everything we expected, and then some! The information that you provided was comprehensive, and jolly useful to boot - particularly to the place.
The location was just great.

We had such a wonderful week's holiday at Linhay. The house even better than you could imagine, just a beautiful spot, fantastic views, and so comfortable and peaceful. Since it is John and Nadia's home it makes it all the more special. We had such a wonderful stay and I really can't recommend it highly enough. Having experienced it in the summer, when we were lucky enough to have great weather, we would love to go back and cuddle up in the winter with the fire on!

What a delightful place - quiet, comfortable and everything you might need provided. It was wonderful to sit out on the patio in the morning, listening to the bird song and watching the valley mist gradually clear. We had an excellent meal, and good real ale, at Wynwards Gap - unfortunately it was not quite warm enough to sit outside - and the Hive Cafe served the best Carrot Cake ever. Can't wait to come back.

John - have been meaning to get in touch to say we had a wonderful weekend in Dorset - the Lodge is great. We are looking forward to our next weekend! We had a fab meal at the Bull Inn hotel in Bridport and have fallen in love with The Hive cafe on the beach at Burton Bradstock - we love seafood and the laid back atmosphere of the beach cafe.

Many thanks,

Denise, 2010

After our lovely walks during the daytime we couldn't tear ourselves away from the lodge in the evenings because it was so homely and comfortable, and we hope that it will be possible to have another break there later in the year. Many thanks.

Linhay Escape really lived up to its name: very early in our weekend, we felt fully relaxed and out of the usual manic loop.

Sean & Fiona, 2010

No noise, no light pollution, no stress - so no reason to leave the cosy warmth of the lodge - except for the great walks, beautiful scenery, good pubs, fresh seafood, stunning coast....

The Lodge is a haven of wood-clad cosiness with its log-burning stove and wonderfully comfy bedroom. It was blissful to stretch out on the huge sofa and admire the entirely unspoilt view across the valley. If you can tear yourself away from this hideaway, trips to Beaminster, Bridport and the Jurassic coast are highly recommended.

Come rain or shine, Linhay Lodge is a seriously relaxing place to stay. Quiet, comfy, cosy and so well thought and kitted out, you feel human again within a couple of days. Its view is quite, quite incredible and one that even our local friends were bowled over by. Exploring is our passion and the situation of the Lodge enabled us to visit many, many new and undiscovered costal and inland locations.

Rachel & Adam, 2009

We really enjoyed our stay at Linhay Lodge. The location is ideal for walking in Dorset and the views from the lodge quite special. The lodge itself is very cosy and we loved the interiors. It was a delight to finally find somewhere that ticked so many boxes for a staycation - there are not many places like this.

A fantastic break away from the city. Cosy atmosphere with a  Wood burning fireplace. A perfect setting for long walks, red wine and reading!  A tranquil wooden retreat fitted with all the necessities of home set in a picturesque village, with a fabulous pub nearby. We loved it!
